Call me biased, but I love Alberta. The ironic part is that I didn't actually start exploring the province until years after I moved away. I guess we never act like tourists in our own backyards. It's quite sad, really!
This fall, I decided to change that. I packed my Canon and dragged along two of my best girlfriends to explore Kananaskis Country. From Lake Louise to Peyto Lake, we were blown away by the sites.
Bonus tip for all of you: the water turns more aqua in colour as the summer goes on. So, if you go in the fall, the water is basically turquoise. And, don't even get me started on the autumn leaves...
I could share a myriad of memorable moments with you, but as someone wise once said: a picture is worth a thousand words. And, that couldn't be more true when it comes to the mountains. I'm one proud of Albertan, right now.
Enjoy every picture - and, book your trip! The Wild Rose province awaits.
The Rocky Mountains have all the gems! If you want a trip like mine, it only takes two days.
On day one, we drove from Calgary to Canmore to check out the Nordic Spa. Note to self: R&R is so important. Of course, no trip to Canmore is complete without breakfast at the Rocky Mountain Bagel Co., so that's where day two began.
After fuelling up with all the carbs, we went to Peyto Lake for major viewing pleasure, then to Lake Louise, where we hiked for chai at the Lake Agnes Tea House.
Life is good.
